The first flight from Kabul to Tashkent
On November 29, the first direct flight from the capital of Afghanistan to Tashkent was made.
This became a practical result of measures taken on expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. Relations between our countries, based on the principles of friendship and good-neighborliness, are consistently developing in various areas. In particular, Uzbekistan is actively participating in implementation of projects in the spheres of construction, energy, mining and other sectors of the economy of Afghanistan.
Over the years, Uzbekistan Railways joint-stock company laid and commissioned the Khayraton – Mazari-Sharif railway line. Establishment of an air service between Kabul and Tashkent will serve to increase the logistics potential of our countries, strengthen cooperation in the sphere of civil aviation.
The first flight from Kabul to Tashkent was made by "Kam air" airline company (Afghanistan). Direct flights have opened new prospects for cooperation between the airline companies of the two countries. They reached agreements on training of Afghan civil aviation pilots in the Flight School of Uzbekistan Airways, as well as on maintenance of the "Kam air" aircraft at "Uzbekistan Airways Technics" air company.
Flights from Afghanistan to Tashkent will be carried out two days a week, on modern liners. The flight schedule is designed so that it would be convenient for passengers of Afghanistan to fly connecting flights to Germany, Great Britain and other countries, as well as to travel around Uzbekistan, which, in particular, is facilitated by the optimal interval between the flights to Samarkand, Bukhara and Urgench.
