On June 7, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Namangan region in order to become acquainted with the progress of socio-economic reforms, creative and landscaping activities, new projects at places, and for holding a dialogue with people. 

Namangan region is one of the comprehensively developed, well-maintained regions of our country. In recent years, its economic potential has increased even more. Cities and villages of the region have become even more beautiful. The gross regional product grew by 8,7 percent in the first quarter of this year. 

The electrified railway line Angren – Pop was commissioned on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the independence of our country. It includes a unique tunnel through Kamchik pass with a length of 19 kilometers, which became a huge event in the life of our country. This road opened up great economic opportunities and turned Namangan region into an important transit region. 

In accordance with the program of development of industrial potential of Namangan region for 2016-2019, approved by the resolution of the First President of our country Islam Karimov of November 24, 2015, hundreds of investment projects are being implemented in the region. A special place among them is construction of Turakurgan thermal power plant worth 2 billion 1 million dollars. This power station will provide power supply of not only Namangan region, but also the entire Fergana valley. 

Implementation of projects on construction of a solar power station with a capacity of 100 megawatts at the amount of 210 million dollars, development of Mingbulak oil and gas field in Mingbulak district worth 211 million dollars and other investment projects will raise the economy of the region to a new level. 

Small business and private entrepreneurship are developing dynamically in Namangan. Entrepreneurs of the region are producing demanded products based on modern technologies and receiving a substantial income from exports. In the first quarter of this year, 79 enterprises exported products at the amount of 17,4 million dollars. The number of exporting enterprises included 19 new entities. 

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his pre-election program, outlined large-scale plans and goals on raising this activity to a new level, consistent development of all regions of our country, including Namangan region. 

The President of our country during his trip to Namangan will become acquainted with implementation of these plans, creative activities and promising projects.
