On July 21, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the city of Angren. 

Such modern industries as chemical, petrochemical, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, mechanical engineering and metal processing are developed in Tashkent region. 

An important factor in full involvement of the industrial potential of the region, organization of new high-tech production capacities became the creation of the special industrial zone "Angren" in accordance with the decree of the First President of our country Islam Karimov of April 13, 2002. According to the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it has been transformed into the free economic zone "Angren", even more ample opportunities and benefits have been created there. 

During the visit to the city of Angren on September 20, 2016, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the constructive work carried out in this economic zone, as well as with large investment projects that are being implemented there. 

These include a project for production of conveyor belts, tires for agricultural machinery and cars. The project provides for production of 100 thousand running meters of conveyor belt per year, 200 thousand tires for agricultural machinery and 3 million automobile tires. 

The President of our country got acquainted with the implementation progress of this project. 

Conveyor belts and tires are high-demand products in industry, agriculture, people's lives. They are imported from abroad. Production of these goods in our country will allow to replace their imports and receive income from exports. 

This plant is very important for the economy of our country, said the head of our state. High-quality products of a wide range that meet international standards will be produced here. People will receive a source of stable income. 

Plant commissioning will allow to ensure employment of about 1,2 thousand people. Youth will master modern technologies, acquire necessary qualifications. So far, 68 specialists have improved their qualifications in China. 

The head of our state gave instructions on training specialists of a narrow profile for this enterprise, using local raw materials. He noted the need for expanding cooperation with the Chinese company – "Poly Technologies", searching for new opportunities, development of a strategy with the joint-stock company "Uzkimyosanoat" on expanding production and deepening processing, designed for 10 years. 

Currently, plant construction and installation works are actively continuing. It is expected that the enterprise will start production of tires on September 1 of the current year. 

Information is provided on the ongoing activities on production of building materials, automotive, electrotechnical and petrochemical products, implementation of promising projects in the "Angren" FEZ, the effective use of empty buildings in Tashkent region. 

The head of our state drew attention to the economic efficiency of projects, asked about sources of raw materials and sales markets. He noted the importance of assistance in organizing activities of enterprises, increasing the competitiveness of products through reducing energy costs, providing people with work. 

The President of our country spoke with foreign investors. 

Samples of products produced at enterprises of the "Angren" FEZ were presented.
