President of Uzbekistan signed an order announcing 2 January day off.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed an order on 29 December on announcing 2 January, 2017 as day off.

"Taking into account numerous appeals of citizens and public organizations of the republic, in order to create favorable conditions for the rest and in connection with celebration of the New Year 2017, Monday 2 January, 2017 shall be announced as day off," document said.
