President Mirziyoyev arrived in Moscow

On 4 April President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Moscow on a state visit at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. 

A guard of honor was lined up for the high-level guest at the Vnukuvo-2 airport, decorated with the state flags of the two countries. The Head of our state was greeted by the members of the Government of the Russian Federation. 

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin will discuss the issues of reinforcing strategic partnership and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Russia, prospects of developing the mutually beneficial cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communications, scientific-technical, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres, will exchange views on regional and international problems. 

A Joint declaration of the Presidents of the two states, over 50 documents, aimed at further developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in various spheres are expected to be signed during the state visit. 

On 3 April, a signing ceremony of Uzbekistan-Russia documents took place at the Embassy of our country in Moscow within the framework of the preparatory works for the state visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Russia. The authorized representatives of the parties signed 17 bilateral agreements, contracts and other documents in trade-economic and investment spheres for a total amount of over 3,5 billion US dollars. 

Today President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has laid flowers to the Unknown soldier memorial in Moscow. 


This memorial has been installed to the memory of defenders of the Fatherland, who had died during the Second World War. 

Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid a tribute of respect to the memory of devoted patriots, who had sacrificed their lives for peace and freedom.

A terrorist attack that entailed human casualties occurred on 3 April in St Petersburg. The Head of our state paid a tribute of respect and laid a wreath to the stone of the city-hero Leningrad in Alexander garden in Moscow.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has met with Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev. 


Dmitriy Medvedev welcomed Shavkat Mirziyoyev on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation. 

– Uzbekistan is one of the most trusted partners of Russia, Dmitriy Medvedev said. - Our countries successfully cooperate in different spheres. A very mass-scale package of documents are envisaged to be signed during your visit. I am confident that your visit will be productive and open a new page in the history of friendly relations of our countries. 

– I express sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims of the terrorist act in Saint Petersburg, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. – Terrorism is a threat without borders and needs to be combated together, through joint efforts. 

The President of our country underlined that this visit is a favorable opportunity to elevate bilateral relations to the new level, exchange views on the issues of regional and international significance. 

– I believe that today's negotiations will become a new phase in our cooperation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev remarked.
