Before the negotiations between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, a briefing was held for mass media representatives.

On January 20, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Berlin on an official visit.

On January 17, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi, arrived in the city of Ahmedabad, India on a working visit.

The candidature proposed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was supported by deputies of Samarkand regional Kengash (Council) of people's deputies. Erkinjon Turdimov was appointed khokim of Samarkand region.

On January 10, a meeting on further tasks of ensuring peace and public security in the country and preventing crime was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

At the meeting that was held on January 8 under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was noted that from now on a new system will be organized for expanding the scale of projects involving foreign direct investment in the regions and industries, establishing strict control over their implementation.
