On January 31, 2018, an expanded collegium meeting of the National Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan devoted to an analysis of implemented activities and measures on radically improving activities of the National Security Service was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Press Service of the President reports. 

Uzbekistan is widely celebrating the 80th anniversary of the First President of our country, an outstanding state and political figure, the great son of Uzbek people Islam Karimov's birth. 

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented the program on the main economic indicators and improvement of implementation of the tax policy in Kashkadarya region, payments of large enterprises to the budget, forecast indicators for the current year. 

On January 26, a meeting on the issues of implementation of the program for guaranteed supply of electricity to new production facilities erected by Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combinat until 2026 was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. 

At the meeting, held on January 25 under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, it was noted that more than half of investments attracted to the economy of Uzbekistan fall on the oil and gas industry and every spent dollar should yield an economic effect. 

Presentation of projects on construction of multi-storey houses, International Scientific Research Center named after Imam Termizi, aksakals teahouses, the mosque in Termez, modernization of "Khujaipok" inter-district enterprise on production of drinking water, laying modern sewer networks, improvement of activities of private homeowners' associations in the region, reconstruction of Sharaf Rashidov Street in the city of Denau, erecting multi-apartment buildings along this street was held during the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Surkhandarya region.

On January 18, 2018, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the World Bank delegation led by the Chief Executive Officer Kristalina Georgieva. 

Today, the main goal of design institutes is to artificially inflate the project cost in order to obtain a high percentage of profit from design. It's time to stop this practice, emphasized Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Following the example of "UzEngineering" design organization, which develops projects for basic branches of the economy, other economic associations should also have similar specialized design institutes with highly qualified specialists. 

On January 16, 2018, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China Sun Lijie, completing his diplomatic mission in our country.
