On July 8, 2018, the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani received the government delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by the minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is on a working visit to Afghanistan, at Arg palace.

The solemn event dedicated to Astana's 20th anniversary was held in the Palace of Independence, in the capital of Kazakhstan.
